WAN-IFRA, based in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, is looking for an

(Junior) Event Manager (f/m/d)

Starting: 1.12.2020 (80% on a one-year contract with the potential for extension)


In this position you will assist the Deputy Director for Global Events with the organization, marketing and production of our (virtual) events.


Your tasks

  • General events assistance for our upcoming World News Media Congress in June 2021 in Taiwan
  • Implementation and coordination of our virtual events
  • Planning, conceptualization and implementation of our Marketing Communications (Branding, E-mail marketing, Social Media, Website, Promotional materials, etc.)
  • Coordinate agendas, invitations and event collateral
  • Management of vendors contributing to events
  • Research new suppliers, contacts and venues and offer proactive ideas
  • Provide on-site support at events as needed
  • Provide support with attendee management and registration
  • Arrange travel and accommodations for our speakers and VIP´s
  • Assisting with the production of marketing materials (web banners, posters, flyers, newsletters)
  • Assisting with various administrative international event duties
  • 10% international travel required


Your profile

  • Working permit for Germany
  • Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Marketing, Tourism or similar
  • A minimum of two years experience within event management
  • Fluent in spoken and written English is a must. Good knowledge of German, Spanish or French is of advantage
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organization skills, attention to detail, able to demonstrate creativity, adaptability and learn new applications quickly
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently as well as being a part of a team environment and working flexible hours if required
  • Able to work with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus (InDesign, Photoshop)
  • Experience in organising virtual events, webinars, and hybrid events is a plus
